Today would have been the Akron-Summit Holocaust Commemoration and Awards Ceremony in honor of Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day). We want to thank all of the students, teachers and schools for learning the lessons of the Holocaust and other Genocides to create meaningful pieces of art and writing. If you have time today, look at the winning pieces from this year’s contest and please take a moment of silence for all of those who did not survive the Holocaust.
2020 Winners Announced
All 2020 winning visual art and writing pieces have been posted on our website under winners 2020.
Ceremony Cancelled
Unfortunately, due to closings and government restrictions on group events we will need to cancel the Akron-Summit Holocaust Commemoration and Awards Ceremony scheduled for April 21, 2020. Winners and teachers will be notified by mail, email and all winners names will be posted on facebook and on our website at AkronSummitHolocaustEducation.org. We are still hoping to display the winners at the Akron-Main Library for a period of time and will notify everyone if and when we are able to do so. Hopefully we will have some events in the fall, so keep checking on our facebook page and website.
Thank you for your patience.
